Meet The Cook

I'm Carl. But, most folks call me Tom Thumb.
 

I'm a Dare County native who grew up and worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years. My mother, Doris, better known as "Duchess," owned and operated the Duchess of Dare restaurant for over 50 years. I love cookin' and would be happy to provide the same service for you. I call my business "cookouts" not "catering" because I provide a home-cooked, causal, family atmosphere and "feel."

I've served a range of events, from small, outdoor cookouts for family gatherings, to large fish fries at the North Carolina governor's mansion in Raleigh.
